Happy Easter to you!
I hope while you enjoy the Easter candy and maybe a family cookout, you also know and understand the significance of the Good News and why we are celebrating. We celebrate Christ’s victory and the freedom we were given through Christ Jesus, who died for us on the cross.
Could you imagine what it would take to be the highest King and having all the privileges and rights a kingdom brings and giving it up so your people wouldn’t have to die? We didn’t even know that we were sentenced to death for the things we do. But Jesus, the King of kings, knew and was coming to our rescue. The Old Testament in the Bible explains the requirements for sin offerings. It takes a perfect, clean, unblemished animal’s blood to atone for one’s sin. Jesus was THE perfect creation and He died so we would not have to.
What does that mean? Will you die? Well, your natural body will eventually die one day, but your soul now doesn’t have to die eternal death. Through our verbal confession joined with our heart’s belief that Jesus is the Son of God, that He came to us as a human and died for us and rose again from the dead, we are given eternal life. But the taste of these benefits already begin here on earth as you begin to experience the hope of His calling of YOUR NAME:
- He guides you daily.
- He listens to your prayers.
- He provides for you.
- He shows you a way out of a situation.
- He breaks you free from the chains that bind you to insecurities, addictions, fears and replaces it with the fruits of love.
- He wipes your tears away and brings you unexplainable joy.
- He guides you as your loving Father in heaven.
- He never leaves your side.
If you haven’t experienced a few items out of the tiny snapshot of His goodness, which He offers to you, invite Him today to reign in your life and give your heart to a loving God. All you need to do is to confess with your mouth (by saying) that Jesus is the Son of God while you believe this in your heart at the same time.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT)
Now what?
Now your new life journey with God begins.
You seek Him daily. Little by little. Read a portion of His word every day. Think about it like you want to get to know a person really well – you see them as often as you can, ask them questions, dine with them, have some enjoyable moments together, etc., right? That’s what you will do with God as you read His word, the Bible. He will reveal more and more of who He is (and who you are to Him) as you read the scriptures. The great difference is that you don’t need to earn His attention or love – He freely gives it to those who seek a relationship with Him. He will show you things you never imagined, you can be excited, and I am excited for you!
Secondly, find a local church you can connect to. God calls us to do that because we are all together as believers the church (it’s more than a building!) and each of us is part of Christ’s body (the church), meaning, you also will be given an important role. You will also find help in church and be a help as well. All of us have a role, sometimes they seem small and sometimes big but they all are important to God and YOU are very dear to God!
Lastly, you find further “starter help” to begin Your walk with God in this literature.
Some churches carry the One2One book as a free give-away for you. Or, you could order it here.
The “Purple Book” is a workbook that walks you through the biblical foundations.
God bless you!
