A couple of months ago, I read the book “The Power of a Praying Woman”. Her words and a couple of inspirations form His word inspired me to write this wake-up letter of instruction for a day God wants you to have. A day without depression, fear, anger, or selfish thoughts.

To the guys reading this: Just replace the title geared towards us girls with something that makes you feel motivated and called to listen.

Need a boost?

I haven’t been able to post as frequently as I wanted to but I am not too worried about that. My job has demanded more of my weeknights and weekends and at times I got frustrated. I am dedicated to serve God and He has shown me at my job how to serve Him there, as well.

When I am in His word and am praying or listening, He provides me with everything I need in a particular situation to get my head back up and be strong, to overcome, continue, and help others do the same. When that happens, I share it, because this is what this blog is all about – encouragement. Encouragement for every moment that you need it. If I could give hugs on this blog, you would get one every time (I’m one of those people).

Other times, the encouragement doesn’t come in a big message. It can be as simple as

“This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God I with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NLT)

There you go! Being in His word prepares for moments where you lack energy and courage and a single verse can get you back on your toes. That’s what I will now share as well as “boosts” (like an energy boost). Yes, you can find exactly that in your bible, but since you are reading this blog that shares the encouragement I received from our Heavenly Father, I will share it here and urge you to look it up in your own bible version.

Be encouraged!

Help!

Unrelated to the message on this post, a Beatles-song keeps playing over and over in my head after I typed in the title to this article…driving me nuts! Hehe. Actually a mood-lifting video. =)

Anyhow. Let’s get some perspective and look at the bright side of life.  Think positive.  Yada yada.  I could go on and on with these often used attempts to encourage someone who is in need for advice, a listening ear or some help.  There’s truth in all of them.  But that alone doesn’t help you at all in a moment of utter unhappiness, does it?

I have learned that friends will listen to you and will help you where they can, but they cannot drag you out of unhappiness or a self pity pit.  You can do it and here is how it has worked for me a couple of times.  I  will share with you a few ideas on how to create your “memorable moments medicine” that you can take next time you need a reminder of all the ways God has been there to help you (not expanding on the fact that we are all doing way better than we deserve…).
