Happy Easter to you!

I hope while you enjoy the Easter candy and maybe a family cookout, you also know and understand the significance of the Good News and why we are celebrating. We celebrate Christ’s victory and the freedom we were given through Christ Jesus, who died for us on the cross.
Could you imagine what it would take to be the highest King and having all the privileges and rights a kingdom brings and giving it up so your people wouldn’t have to die? We didn’t even know that we were sentenced to death for the things we do. But Jesus, the King of kings, knew and was coming to our rescue. The Old Testament in the Bible explains the requirements for sin offerings. It takes a perfect, clean, unblemished animal’s blood to atone for one’s sin. Jesus was THE perfect creation and He died so we would not have to.
What does that mean? Will you die?  (more…)

Help!

Unrelated to the message on this post, a Beatles-song keeps playing over and over in my head after I typed in the title to this article…driving me nuts! Hehe. Actually a mood-lifting video. =)

Anyhow. Let’s get some perspective and look at the bright side of life.  Think positive.  Yada yada.  I could go on and on with these often used attempts to encourage someone who is in need for advice, a listening ear or some help.  There’s truth in all of them.  But that alone doesn’t help you at all in a moment of utter unhappiness, does it?

I have learned that friends will listen to you and will help you where they can, but they cannot drag you out of unhappiness or a self pity pit.  You can do it and here is how it has worked for me a couple of times.  I  will share with you a few ideas on how to create your “memorable moments medicine” that you can take next time you need a reminder of all the ways God has been there to help you (not expanding on the fact that we are all doing way better than we deserve…).
