Luke 4:13 says “When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next OPPORTUNITY came.”

Opportunity…To the enemy, opportunity often is a moment of weakness where the solution offered seems the most convenient way out, compromising God’s instructions. There are so many more cases that represent opportunities to the enemy, like a surprise hit when you least expect it. Or, a direct response to your character – what is tempting you might not even cause a reaction to someone else.  So what represents a good opportunity to the enemy? And why would you want to know? Answering the question for yourself should support you in identifying “opportunity” situations to be more aware of them in your life and prepared. I went through this exercise and I ask God regularly to examine my heart and to reveal to me my weaknesses. I prefer to be prepared so I can respond to a temptation with a big yawn and walk away from it as much as possible.

I have started a small collection below, which I don’t claim to be complete.  I  am looking forward to your suggestions of anything that should be added to it. I pray that you will be aware of the “enemy’s opportunities” in your life and become strong to resist and to pass every test you go through.

Help!

Unrelated to the message on this post, a Beatles-song keeps playing over and over in my head after I typed in the title to this article…driving me nuts! Hehe. Actually a mood-lifting video. =)

Anyhow. Let’s get some perspective and look at the bright side of life.  Think positive.  Yada yada.  I could go on and on with these often used attempts to encourage someone who is in need for advice, a listening ear or some help.  There’s truth in all of them.  But that alone doesn’t help you at all in a moment of utter unhappiness, does it?

I have learned that friends will listen to you and will help you where they can, but they cannot drag you out of unhappiness or a self pity pit.  You can do it and here is how it has worked for me a couple of times.  I  will share with you a few ideas on how to create your “memorable moments medicine” that you can take next time you need a reminder of all the ways God has been there to help you (not expanding on the fact that we are all doing way better than we deserve…). (more…)

Impossible, you say? What would drive Satan to do that? His intention is to redirect our paths straight into hell, not to confirm that we are on the right way, in line with God’s will. But even enemies deliver valuable information. (more…)
