Luke 4:13 says “When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next OPPORTUNITY came.”
Opportunity…To the enemy, opportunity often is a moment of weakness where the solution offered seems the most convenient way out, compromising God’s instructions. There are so many more cases that represent opportunities to the enemy, like a surprise hit when you least expect it. Or, a direct response to your character – what is tempting you might not even cause a reaction to someone else. So what represents a good opportunity to the enemy? And why would you want to know? Answering the question for yourself should support you in identifying “opportunity” situations to be more aware of them in your life and prepared. I went through this exercise and I ask God regularly to examine my heart and to reveal to me my weaknesses. I prefer to be prepared so I can respond to a temptation with a big yawn and walk away from it as much as possible.
I have started a small collection below, which I don’t claim to be complete. I am looking forward to your suggestions of anything that should be added to it. I pray that you will be aware of the “enemy’s opportunities” in your life and become strong to resist and to pass every test you go through.
